senryu just got back from attending the American Film Institute's Lifetime Achievement Award ceremony for George Lucas, the award's 33rd recipient. Sounds like it was massively cool (and brimming with stars, Lucas-related and otherwise)...but I'm hoping she'll post about it, so I won't repeat the stories she told (e.g., the one involving William Shatner and a bunch of Busby Berkeley clone troopers) (oops, sorry!).
Heads-up, though: the ceremony was taped for TV, to be shown a week from Monday on USA cable (20 June -- our 19th anniversary, as it happens). She says it's a hell of a lot better than most award shows, and Lucas fans in particular won't want to miss it. So now you is warned!
(She also said Carrie Fisher got slightly off-color, to the amusement of all.) (Oops!, sorry!)
C'mon, senryu! Tell the nice people about it! :)

P.S. You may be able to see her in the audience, too, those of you who know her. Heh.
