Breaking news (at 1:56am Pacific, anyway)

Yes, I know...you can never rely on such facts, and issues surrounding this guy are still verrry hazy (including why nearly every clip of him you saw until tonight looked like a sim from a shoot-em-up RPG).

But word is that Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi -- self-appointed leader of Al-Qaida in Iraq, and alleged personal executioner of U.S. hostage Nicholas Berg -- (1) was killed last night (2) in a U.S. airstrike (3) targeted thanks to informers inside his own organization. I call that three pieces of very good news indeed.

I don't usually gloat over deaths. What we're told about this guy more than justifies an exception, this time.

Hey, entropy156! We got the fucker.

WTG, USAF! -- and the clandestine folks who made it possible.

I know you all knew this by the time you got to LJ...but it was nice to post some good news, for once.
