Entropy warned me -- the time-devourer that is lj has me enthralled yet again.
Still, I have to note that TCM is currently running The Seven Faces of Dr. Lao, starring (seven times over) the late, great Tony Randall. One of the faves of my childhood, and it holds up rather well, IMO.
One big reason, of course, is the even more stunning novel it's based on: Charles Finney's Circus of Dr. Lao. Anybody interested in the sorts of junk we discuss here has simply got to read that one -- all these decades later, it still does so much in so little space that it puts wordy bazzards like me to shame. Yow, and likewise Yow.

(who agrees with davmhl bigtime re: Lynch's Mulholland Drive, and thinks that writer Mark Frost gets waaaay too little credit for "Lynch's" really wonderful Twin Peaks...though Lynch's "Angriest Dog in the World" is clearly a work of genius. :) )
